Our faith communities are better when everyone feels welcome, but churches aren’t always a safe space for people with disabilities.
We’re working to change that.
Mosaic works with communities, pastors and other leaders to help people with disabilities find a welcoming home in the church. We offer support in a variety of ways.
Supporting Faith Communities
Mosaic works to help faith communities welcome people with disabilities. We provide support through coaching, curriculum modification, behavioral support and more.
Additionally, our innovative Rejoicing Spirits ministry helps congregations start new worship services that allow people with disabilities to be themselves.
Educating Faith Leaders
Most faith leaders want to welcome people with disabilities into worship and fellowship, but aren’t sure how. Mosaic has partnered with Kindling Faith at United Lutheran Seminary to offer a five-month online educational series for church leaders of all denominations. During the series, Mosaic experts guide participants in exploring key ministry areas—such as worship, advocacy, and grief—through the perspectives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Rev. Mark and Kathy Helge Joyful Spirits Endowment Fund
Established in 2019, The Rev. Mark and Kathy Helge Joyful Spirits Endowment Fund is specifically dedicated to Mosaic’s church relations and spiritual life work.
In addition to formal items like Mosaic’s Rejoicing Spirits worship and seminary training program, Mosaic staff also act as a professional resource helping churches interact with families of people with disabilities.
The mission of Mosaic—to love and serve—echoes the heart of the Gospel.
